Holly Smith

The Next Iron Chef Season 2

Holly Smith is competing on The Next Iron Chef and already comes having celebrated several accolades. She is from Monkton, Maryland and gave up political science in order to pursue her true passion: cooking. While enrolled in Baltimore International Culinary College she did an externship with Master Chef Peter Timmons working overseas in the beautiful country of Ireland. From there moved to Seattle and as far as Italy, studying northern Italian food. Her dream of opening her own restaurant came true when she opened Cafe Juanita and Poco Carretto Gelato. These restaurants are committed to using organic ingredients and local sourcing. Holly most recently won the 2008 James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef Northwest while her restaurant has received honorable mention from several top dining publications.
