Roberto Trevino of The Next Iron Chef started out as a young cook working in the San Francisco Bay area. He later traveled to Puerto Rico and made it his home. He has also made many high profile appearances with other cooking legends, such as on Iron Chef America, the Telluride Culinary Festival, Rachel Ray and Aspen Food and Wine Classic, not to mention various celebrity cruises. He continues to innovate and come up with exciting new recipes. He has recently opened up his own restaurant called Budatai, which overlooks the Ventana al Mar. He serves as chef and owner of this new restaurant in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
